About the Island Ambassadors

Have you ever taken a tour of the Island University? Perhaps you visited the campus during one of our Island Day programs. If so, chances are, you've had the opportunity to meet our Island Ambassadors!

Originally established in 1996, the Island Ambassadors are a fun-loving group of volunteer students at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi whose primary responsibility is to help plan, implement, and assist with our campus preview day programs (e.g., Island Day).  Island Ambassadors also assist the University in conducting campus tours for new/prospective students, and serve as student ambassadors at other campus events and local functions.

While being an Island Ambassador is a fun and rewarding experience, it is also a big responsibility.  For many, the Island Ambassadors are the first University representatives that students and families meet.  To these individuals, THE ISLAND AMBASSADORS ARE TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY-CORPUS CHRISTI.

If you feel that you have:

  • An outgoing and fun-loving personality,
  • Pride in your university,
  • A desire to meet new people and make new friends,

we invite you to submit your Island Ambassador application to the Office of New Student Programs. For more information on how to apply, please visit our How to apply section.
